About MIPS

Cooperative purchasing. Mississippi priorities.

MIPS stands for Mississippi Interlocal Purchasing System. We help schools and public organizations connect cooperative contracts with the people, approvals, and records a purchase needs.

What is cooperative purchasing?

Cooperative purchasing lets eligible organizations use an established contract when the contract, applicable law, funding requirements, and local policy allow it. Buyers still review the scope, pricing, documentation, and authority for their own purchase.

Who is MIPS built for?

MIPS supports Mississippi school districts, charter schools, community colleges, higher education, and municipal or county organizations. Registration starts a review of the organization and its purchasing role.

Your district keeps its approval authority

Members can prepare a requisition themselves or request concierge help. Vendor pricing review comes first, followed by the district's designated approvers in sequence. An administrator preparing a purchase does not replace district approval.

A public introduction, a private purchasing area

Our vendor roster, guidance, and blog are open to everyone. Contract pricing, carts, requisitions, supporting documents, and purchasing records remain behind the appropriate access controls.

Start with the process, then the purchase.
